Lionel
@anniem Annie, my given name is Lance. Please don't ever call me, Lionel.  ;D

Yes, I had a basic Lionel set with a station and I think maybe a house or two?  Don't recall. I do recall that the locomotive came with some kind of pellet you put down the smokestack and it smoked while going around the track, very cool. And I think there was a button on the controller that you could press and it would toot the whistle. My memories of this are faint as I was very little. The trains were supposed to be for my older brother but I liked them much more than he did, so my Dad taught me how to play with them. The tracks were built on a big board in the basement that we could stand up against the wall when not using it. It was not a fancy set, very basic, but really fun.

I hope you will enjoy yours!
@Aquarius  That is awesome. My Grampa had me into trains at about seven. Your description sounds like what he had going on in his basement. I think it was on a tournament size ping pong table.  Trains!  I might put hardboiled eggs in one of the roofless coal cars so that it looks like they're hauling Pterodactyl eggs ;D ;D ;D

I've all but given up on transporting giraffes.

I'm going this route

Wow, cool! There is a local restaurant near me that used to be a railroad depot in the 1920's, and in honor of that they have a train just like that going all around the place on a track suspended from the ceiling. It's really fun to hear and see it go by while you're eating, it's not noisy or annoying, but I love it!

I was trying to recall more while at dinner tonight. I seem to remember we had some small people figures, and maybe a street lamp or two that lit up? And I used to put something in the open cargo car, but I don't remember what. I think we had a locomotive, two or three cars, and a caboose. In later years, we may have added one or two more cars or more accessories, but still it wasn't fancy... but it was a LOT of fun!

Really, enjoy! +1

Barthur,

I misplaced a fifty dollar bill. I know it's either in my living room or bedroom but I can't find the darned thing.

Do you know where it is?

Thank You!

Kittehs do not steal. They reclaim that which we mistakenly thought was not theirs.

Since this is the ask Bart thread, I think I'll ask bart about ads for clicking. Is there a way I can tell which ads are sponsored for/by Ellgab?  I get the same ads no matter what site I'm on.

How do I make sure Ellgab gets the klicks?

HUH??? Who is doing what here?

I'm asking how do I tell if an ad is ad Bart gets the credit for if I klick. I get the same ads no matter what site I'm on.  All I'm asking is how to determine who the ads belong to.

I'll scrath my head on this one.

You clearly don't understand your own question. Why is this so hard for you? Of course YOU get the same ads no matter what site you're on. That happens to everybody. BART GETS THE CLICKS ON HIS OWN SITE! it doesn't matter what ads you see.

What does that mean "sponsored for/by Ellgab?"

You scratch your head, I'll scratch my ballbag on this one.

@Exile The advertising identifier on your device, coupled with the cookies on your device and your browsing history determines which ads you get on any site that uses adsense. That is why you tend to see the same ads on multiple sites.  The site you are on when you click the add gets credit for the click.
Are we having fun yet?

Thanks GS.

You're saying what I already said. Who doesn't know about cookies and history.

How the Ell wouldn't he? already know that?
