Well, no more Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. It will be called Acrisure Stadium.
It's an insurance company that is going to pay $10 million a year over 15 years for the naming rights.
Yinzers are not happy.
Here's my question: So what?
Ok, so the naming rights were sold to some corporation by whoever manages the stadium. Why do the rest of us have to go along? Why does media have to use the new name? Why do the fans?
I call the stadiums and areas around here Giants Stadium, A's Stadium, the Warriors Arena, the Shark Tank, and the 49ers Stadium. there's no confusion, everyone knows what I'm talking about, no one's mad at me. I don't have to relearn everything every 3 years.
Fuck 'em and their stupid ''naming rights'' - change the sign if you want, and leave the rest of us alone.
