cheese chase and hockey puck chase?

I believe this is where the term ''cheese head'', proudly lost teeth in the name of sport, the idea of a round disc in place of a ball originated

It's not an investment, Joey, it's entertainment.

Why would you spend $360 to go to a ballgame anyway?

My passion for hockey has waned this season and I can't put my finger on why.  Typically I'm immersed in the sport overall, I have been for many years, and of course what the Penguins are doing.  Not so much.  I think it's a virus.  Perhaps a bio-weapon used on Penguins fans?  Not sure.  I turned down free tickets to the Caps/Pens game next week.  That never would've happened before.

NHL Department of Player Safety?

For me--The Flyers playoff odds look promising.
the Flyers have played in just three playoff series — each of them one-and-done losses — in the last seven seasons.  :'(

Welcome to the dark side.  I was a sports fan for a lot of years, going to games, watching games, subscribing to magazines.  I still have all the cards I collected as a kid

At some point it all got so repetitive, forgettable.  I took a look at how much of my free time was spent on this stuff, how unimportant it is.  What finally got me was the baseball strike in 1992 ('93?).  I haven't paid my way into a game since, and I've watched less than a half dozen games.

I still follow the sports, but more from a position of player movement, team building, and so on.  Just the local teams now.  There are guys winning MVPs and going into the various Halls of Fame that I've never heard of.  That makes me happy.

Same with movies.  The people around me in the theater so often make the experience unpleasant.  So why go?  Seriously.  I've probably gone to see 5 movies in the past 20 years (I did see Ford vs Ferrari, loved it)

I spend that money and time on live music - usually smaller venues with an open dance floor, not the seated area shows.  Going out to dinner, hiking, biking, museums, out door coffee shop... for me much much better.  F**k the ballplayers, f**k Hollywood.

Yikes! What the hell happened during the 2nd period?
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

I only saw the highlights. Going to watch the whole thing after work tomorrow. Or at least watch from 2nd period on. Heated stuff!  :D
