Tempting...Hawks have a 2-1 series lead this season. Honestly after all this time off, don't know if I'd want to put money straight up on any one team. Too much uncertainty. Routine plays such a huge part of these players lives, can't imagine trying to fully function as team after all this time off.

I have all my sports betting cash in a few daily fantasy accounts, not even sure what I'm sitting at right now it's been so long.

So I'm bored without sports, and have always had an interest in sports simulation. I have created an alternate Hockey universe in a program called Franchise Hockey Manager where Bart is the greatest player alive. I wanted to test the simulation engine and see how it would handle an overpowered player. If there's any interest in continuing this I can keep simulating to see if he ever catches Gretzky in terms of all time records.  Just a diversion in the interim until we have actual live sports again. This is at the end of the first season of his career, right before the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

It seems absurd to restart the NHL and NBA seasons.  The players are no longer in late season form, there's little connection now to the seasons of several months ago.  They should just call it and be done.

Besides, to protect us from ourselves apparently we'll never again be able to go out for dinner, go to a movie or concert, or to a sporting event.  In that case, what do we need players making 10s if not 100s of millions of dollars for, or billionaire owners ripping us off on t-shirt sales?

The NHL knows there is a big void in TV programming left by the cancelled 'lympics and a captive audience willing to try new things.
