How can you talk about the Whalers without at least a passing mention of Gordie Howe’s contribution during their first season?

He skated around at 1/3 speed shitting his diaper.

@GravitySucks  Well then how can @Zetaspeak do the same!!???  The mid-80's team was referenced.  I was just going by my own experience of following/seeing games.  I think Gordie was gone when I started following hockey.
Same with me,  I remember mid-80s mostly, vaguely remember a little bit of early 80s Islanders years.

@Zetaspeak  I dig the Whalers.  Playing home games in a mall always seemed weird to me.  One of my friends is from Connecticut and shared some stories about going to games.  Overall he thought it sucked.  Oh...by the way...No love for Kevin Dineen?  And no...the Whalers name is not inappropriate...I think.  ;)

Dineen alright, but Ray Ferraro and his awesome mustache would be my third guy on the line. Thinking back a young Ulf Samuelsson was a Whaler in the 80s, I don't think he was as much as an a**hole back then, but my bias might have blinded me  :D

@FISH  My Pens jersey and my T-shirts are all dirty and in the worsh wash basket.  ;D  Plus, unlike the stereotypical Yinzer, I don't wear that stuff 24/7.   ;)  You would never see my cousin without some sort of sports gear on though...even at a funeral.  :-\  Just sad.
@ShayP did you get to see part of the game. OT just for YOU.  8)
On Tuesday morning, it was hot in Philly. I wore an old (summer) Flyers's T shirt.

"Woke up to a world that is changing
Looking out the window, got me wondering lately
Will we be okay?"

YESTERDAY was a good day for ICE HOCKEY fans.
My parlour became a BUBBLE in Philly.
We had snacks some beer, unsweetened ice tea, coffee and water.
During the 3rd period we had our take out dinner since Philly is still on lock down. I called in an order for french fries as our vegetable, meatball grinders, pizza cheese steaks and wing dings.
After the OT win---ice cream cones for everyone.
My brother Ken, who was over in Jersey was drinking a quart of IRON CITY BEER @ShayP  ;)

@FISH I did not. I watched some highlights online.  Sloppy overall.  They'll get their legs under them though.  I thought the Rust/Malkin/Zucker line was very good.

Looks like the first 5 minutes of any period of a Leafs home game.

Indeed.
They are Leaf fans, finding their seat is hard work for them.
