Having his best season isn't proof he did not bet on his own games.
He could have made a number of prop bets on things like how many hits he had, time on ice, power play minutes, penalty minutes...

As long as the ice remains white, racism will be the legacy. Beating a black puck with a stick on white ice. Drop the black puck between two wannabe plantation masters fighting over the rights to the little black guy with wooden clubs. While authorities only blow the whistle when someone tries to smoother the little black guy. Beat the black puck with a stick. Fine. Kick the black guy with the skates. Mostly fine.
