@KSM The Canucks handled the Penguins with ease.  5-1  They are showing life.

@ShayP  Well... how are the PENS doing in general? Fluke win for the Nucks?

Well, @KSM they just lost to the Kraken which was there 4th straight loss.  The Nucks beat them handily.  Not a fluke win at all.  The Pens gave up after the 2nd period.  Then the Nucks poured in 3 goals while the Pens just watched them do it.

As usual the injury bug hits the Pens early in the season but the core is intact.  They just aren't playing well.  Kris Letang has been abysmal.  He might as well not have a stick in his hand with his turnovers and poor decisions.   Penalty kill is bad too.

Still very early in the season.

Still very early in the season.

................... Don't you just hate having to say that? Every lost game is one that the other team won. We can NOT fall into the "it's long season" trap. Last year the Jays lost exactly ONE too many so they missed out on the wildcard spot.

In a sense. @KSM  However, it is early.  Nonetheless these guys have to figure it out sooner than later.  The Pens just lost their 5th straight blowing a 3 goal lead to the Bruins.

What pains me regarding the Pens is they have a veteran core and 2, maybe 3, hall of famers on the roster and they are playing like shit overall.  Crosby is still Crosby.  Works his tail off, but something is off.  I don't know.  It seems they don't adapt.  They try to play fast but they're not.  The definition of insanity..."Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."  :-\

The window is closing on this team but not all hope is lost.  Because it's still early.  ;)

  • Please forgive me, I was raised by wolves.
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

I'd like to see Ovechkin pass Gretzky for all-time leader in goals.  He needs 108 to do so.  He's 37 years old.  I think he has a good chance.  He's on pace for 40+ this year.

If he plays two more years, I think the record is broken.
