I love them. That's part of the brilliance of the first film.  He doesn't win.  It's based on one of my all time favorite fights Ali vs Wepner. Wepner a liquor salesman went 15 rounds with Ali and even knocked him down in the 9th. Other than that he got beat to a pulp, but it was one of the most gutsy performances I've seen.
