I have know idea what you are referencing.  I feel like you're messing with me.  My apologies if I'm mistaken.

Hehehehe   ;D

Quincy's da' Man! Man.

The lumber company line was from a real event. Big family Christmas in the early 90's:

My mom and sister were in the kitchen doing dishes after lunch as a bunch of us were in the living room gabbing away while the TV was on. The publishers clearinghouse commercial came on with Dick Clark and Ed McMahon. She, mom, came into the room with plate she was hand drying and glanced at the TV and without missing a beat she says "Hmm Ed MaHahn, he's from the lumber company" Turned and walked back into the kitchen leaving us all completely speechless before breaking out into bloody hysterics. Albeit confused WTF type hysterics.

She was a normal woman with a high job at the Attorney Generals office and this was just out of the blue fucked up. @ShayP   I still laugh oot loud about it.

Dude. @KSM32  We went from Clint Eastwood to Jack Klugman to Ed McMahon to "Ed MaHahn."  WTF?   ;) ;D  Plus, I forgot Publishers Clearing house was a thing.  LOL!  My Grandmother ordered me lots of magazines from there back in the 80's.

;D Iiii KNOW!  Now you have an idea what it's like to have an actual live in person conversation with me. All my guests leave with freshly pissed pants and a greatly diminished sense of self worth.

There was another detective show on that played opposite The Rockford Files, and I was the only one who ever watched it.  It was called Harry O and it starred the late great David Janssen.  He played an ex-detective who had to retire because he got a bullet in him that was lodged close to his spine and the doctors couldn't operate.  He lived in a ramshackle house right on a beach in San Diego.  There was a big fishing boat in the sand called The Answer and he worked on it as a hobby but he could never get it seaworthy.  Anyway he would still hire out as a detective on occasion.  The show had a really cool, introspective vibe and very nice, cool-tempo type jazz music to go with it.  The show lasted two seasons before cancellation because Rockford Files was more popular with the public.

Those honchos at the networks used to do that stuff all the time. They would put 2 similar shows up against each other at the same time, leaving us poor viewers with no choice but to pick one and miss the other!  >:(

There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

@PolkaDot

Rude.

I disliked that piper anyway. I'm getting a full orchestra next time.

I prefer HC and I don't remember that he comes in "nice" but I suppose anything is possible.

In about an hour I'll be on the road heading out to a cabin in a tiny mountain town called Wells. There is a movie being shot there over the weekend so I'll try for an Ell-Bomb should the opportunity present itself.
