Found out in a Double D interview last night that Dokken was all but set to do an album with Bob Rock in the late 80's, but George and the guys took a pass. Don was not happy and they split from there. George was a fucking poison and the other two stooges fell in like good little boys.  They would have got that HUUUGE sound at Little Mountain. I think he mentioned Fairburn as well.

Back to the new album. I'd say there's only one stinker in the collection.

Speaking of amps once owned, I had a VOX 125 Lead head and cab. All the knobs (top of head) were frequency range. No bass, treble ETC. Total brit tube sound that you can't get away from. I tried for hours on end to try and get a Marshal or HIWATT sound out of it to no avail. That thing sounded like it wanted to sound. Now I miss it, but at 14 it bothered me. It had a particular smell to it as well, especially when those tubes got cookin' and I liked that.

I think the speakers were oval shaped...

You can play the exact same leads from My Sharona and Mamma Let Him Play in each song. Key change of course but you can interchange them and even mix the two leads together. I used to do that. It made it quite enjoyable as we did both of those songs in that particular cover band.
