Not in France, Switzerland.
When my wife was born her parents bought a house in her name.
I never heard of parents doing something like that before but it was a genius move.
They put 20 grand down and had a property management company rent the thing out to pay the mortgage, taxes and upkeep.
The same people have been renting that house for the last 14 years but notified the company that they would be moving out in May of this year.
The house needed to be be renovated before being rented again so we decided to come here for the summer to see if we enjoy living here.

It is absolutely stunningly beautiful. The only problem with Switzerland is the Swiss but you are there rent free and even a snobby landowner. And can get anywhere by train. If I were the envious type I would be green

No but I did take a drive through Geneva into France and got some cheap peanut butter.
