Usually a jersey buyout offer is a little more economical. Maybe a Rolex for a top flight player... A humorous and classy move for Shohei to make...

Good thing for his wife that the Dodgers were resigning him.

By the way, what happened to the era when pitchers wore numbers in the 30s, 40s, 50s and upward?  It just doesn't look right to see a pitcher with a single digit jersey or even in the teens.

Got a smile out of this one. Looked like a darn Wiffle Ball pitch.

No talk of those lovely see through pants?  ???
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

@Bart Ell  has posted extensively about transparent clothing. I think it's a trend or something.

Are you guys getting buried under like 20 feet of snow or something or is that just California and Nevada?

No snow- well it snowed last night for a bit but was all melted by about 11am. I went for a long walk and it was really sunny and lovely out, kinda windy but still nice.

I guess you're avoiding that atmospheric glacier that's coming through...

Rusty Staub may have been the slowest human being to play Major League baseball but he sure had a wonderful swing. Enjoyed watching him when he played for Detroit. Here he wins the game for The Bird.

Get to see a little bit of Jarry Park in those Staub clips. Did you ever get to see a game there Bart?  It was so small it would be like watching a minor league game but with major League players.

I did but I was too young to remember anything.
I was told that Baby Bart waved at Pepe Mangual at the start of every inning and Pepe Mangual would wave back.
When he ran out to start the 8th he climbed the left field fence and handed me a ball.
They traded him a week or two after that.
BASTARDS!

The best major league baseball watching I experienced was at the late Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Florida.  It was a small stadium where you could really see and interact with the players.
Merry Christmas
