Could it be that there is no coincidence that self-admitted asshole David Crosby was bandmates with this guy? 😁
There's stuff I love from him, but not enough to fill a greatest hits album. I believe it was Geffen Records that dropped him because he refused to do anything worth selling.
Cinnamon Girl only goes so far...
Neil Young has always been one of my absolute favorites. I've probably seen him as many times as anyone, other than the Dead. Never cared much for CSN or CSN&Y although they did have some I liked. Too MOR I guess. Saw Stephen Stills twice, once at the Fillmore, acoustic first set, plugged in for the second set, and also saw him at the UC Theatre in downtown Berkeley with his new band The Rides. Both shows were fantastic. CSN&Y and Neil Young solo both played at free Grateful Dead shows along with others in Golden Gate Park. Never made it to any of the Bridge School benefit shows, it's a long slog going to the Shoreline Amphitheatre and lousy sound.
One of the first albums I ever bought was Decade, 3 record set of GH, I loved all those tunes.
Hard for me to criticize Neil Young, I don't know what's been going on with him for awhile now.
