I think, for the first time in my life, I tried to make something and didn't have any pure vanilla extract. Chef Google says that Rum could be used as a substitute.

They turned out pretty good.  Not noticeable, the difference between vanilla extract and spiced rum.

One of the commenters mentioned the vanilla extract, and it was better with it than without it. Also, minimize the salt.
