Had a front row seat to that here in the Bay Area.  During the Aids crisis it was spectacularly out of control.

PS, during the Aids epidemic, the panic and political intrusion was on the opposite end of the spectrum from the Covid-19 response - no infection passports demanded then.

The word on the Royals fanbase is that Queen Elisabeth would mispronounce her own name as Lilibet as a child and later Lilibet was a pet name her husband Prince Phillip would call him.

I heard that too.  I've become fascinated with the awfulness of Meegan and Hairy.  Who ever thought anyone could make the British Royal Family seem sympathetic.

''Lilibet'' is the equivalent of naming a kid nicknames like Jenny, or Jimmy, or Mickey, instead of the formal name they are taken from.  This mostly happens in the rural south or poor urban neighborhoods.

So why did Meegan do this?  Tone deafness, cynicism, more manipulation of the Royal Family, hormones, just a dumb idea?  Plenty of foo-foo Hollywood types give their kids ridiculous names, perhaps the ''Sussex's'' have assimilated quickly.

Is tht the spin they and their allies are putting out?  Any normal name would have done, probably preferably something traditional. 

If they actually wanted to honor the Queen, instead of whatever stunt this was, ''Elizabeth'' would have been fine.
