For the first time in about 20-years I've hooked up my cassette tape deck and am playing a tape. How did we think this was good audio? Maybe I need to clean the heads.
Merry Christmas - Nice things, and posts, are nicer than nasty things.

I'm digging through my music equipment and found a Tascam rubber cleaner can for pinch rollers and a demagnetizer for playheads.

I also have a box full of still sealed TDK SA cassettes along with a shitload of 30 minute chrome tapes. They're worth something, people are buying new old stock cassettes for top dollar. I regret giving a friend a case of tapes for his eight-track cassette system a few years ago. I could have made a ton of money, hahaha.

Check out the Techmoan channel on YouTube.

I figured that my credit up north would have dwindled down quite a bit as I have kept things minimal compared to 4 or more years ago. "Use it or lose it"

Checked it last night and to my surprise it is still in the 800's. Low 8's but still.. *shrug*

PS I have never watched Scarface. There Will Be Blood. Reservoir Dogs.

Woke up after two hours sleep feeling like I could build a house! In the dark! This never happens. 3 espressos today yesterday may be the culprit.

Well let's build that damn house, shall we!?

Feel your pain.  Was given some medication that yesterday that has a side effect of insomnia.  Been awake off and on waiting for the UFO War that isn't happening.

I'm pulling an all-nighter. One of my cats is irritated/in distress. Got a message in to the vet and just being there for him.

That sucks Sean - only thing worse than a sick pet is a sick child.  Best of luck with Seanie Cat

Thank you and amen. I think one of the more shocking aspects of it was when he was crying, the other cats acted as concerned as I was. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

I can believe that. I once had cats, and although they weren't exactly besties amongst themselves, they genuinely seemed to care about each other.

I hope you'll report back with better news.

The test results are back. It is a terminal condition. Apparently very rare, polycythemia. It is an overproduction of red blood cells.

The veterinarian has only seen one other case in his 30 years of practice .

He does not believe that he is in pain. His 12th birthday is in March.

The blood condition and current symptoms give a 3-6 month window.

It is likely that he has had this for a long time. He has had a recurring symptom that we treated with mild medications. (He has seen three different veterinarians over his life.)

I am not being given many plausible options. I believe that I will probably start with baby aspirin on him just to minimize stroke, lung and heart issues.

I may also learn to use a hyperdermic to blood let and rehydrate.

I am waiting for the vet to get back to me. He's researching options. I asked about baby aspirin, he will check the database. I think he said that they have a few case studies online.

Since he's not a purebred, those case studies will be a shot in the dark, in some ways.
