I don't think I have thought about this before, but I am learning this helping a friend out after an injury at home turned fatal for their family member.
Dying on December 24, there is so much that cannot be done...
Everybody cuts out of work early for the private businesses, even some of the government entities are either on short staffing or half day schedules.
Sure, some things are not immediate needs, but they have a clock running starting with official notifications for certain offices. Since that official notification will be delayed, it is a pain in the ass for that.
What really bothersome is that the traffic division is open today, the coroner's office was straight to voicemail... It could be that a bunch of people have killed themselves, drink-drove or overdosed, who knows...
My modus operandi Is call first then email referencing that I attempted to call.
At least the death itself occurred in the hospital, that saved a bit of effort.
