William Smith, actor,  dead at 88. No cause given.  As a child, he appeared in films such as Ghost of Frankenstein, Song Of Bernadette, and Meet Me In St. Louis.  Brawny as an adult, he was known for his brawls in such films with Rod Taylor in Darker Than Amber and with Clint Eastwood in Any Which Way You Can.   He also appeared in such cult films as Invasion of The Bee Girls, Atlantis, The Lost Continent, and Grave of The Vampire as well as such tv fare as Laredo, Hawaii Five-O and Rich Man, Poor Man. He was also a poet.

“You’ve done some bad and you’ve done some good
You wouldn’t change things even if you could
‘Cause through the years you’ve run a good race
The Reaper chased and couldn’t keep your pace
So toast those that live and those that die
And while you can, spit in the Reaper’s eye.”

RIP, Bill.

one of the last remaining cast members from the original Hawaii Five-O. He was only there for the horrid, final season when everyone else had left the show but Jack Lord.

William Smith. Consummate professional.

One of his most memorable characters for me was as "Moon," in C.C. & Company.

Joe Namath's acting? Uhmmm. No. He might as well have winked at the camera 777 times.

Anne Margret? Uninspired, but very very pretty. Hot as Stromboli lava.

William Smith as Moon? Fucking menacing. His character a chaotic force of nature to the degree it was almost "man vs. nature," instead of "man vs. man."

Heh

They don't make them like that anymore - the mold definitely broken.

Ha, ha...Joe Namath “acting.”  I want to shatter my TV every time he shows up hawking Medicare coverage.  Damn, Joe, you’re so damn hard up you have to resort to this?

You should have made a killing in your Broadway Joe days.  Have you no shame?  At least Magnum P.I. Is only shilling for reverse mortgages.

Yum, sweet Ann.  She pretty much upstaged everyone in her early days, including The King, himself.

Even this lady was pissed when everybody was falling all over Ms. Ann, when she showed-up as a teen in fictional Sweet Apple, OH.  O-H...I-OOOOOO!

One of Ann-Margret's characters I do remember appreciating acting-wise was in MAGIC with Hopkins. Nice and creepy film.

If I have the movie poster blurb right, it is more due to successful marketing than my recall abilities.

From memory:

Abracadabra, I sit on his knee
Presto Change-o, now he is me
Hocus pocus, we take her to bed
Magic is fun
We're dead

Another one from my favorite TV show.

That show has had a lot of deaths... Even while it was in production.
