When he and Tom Hanks did "Bosum Buddies," I thought Scolari was the more talented of the two. And agreed, he was a hoot on Newhart.  I didn't think Newhart was very funny the first season, but after retooling it in season two the show hit its stride.  Larry, Daryl, and Daryl were hilarious.  The funniest bit they did was Larry telling Newhart the blonde Daryl was going to Kansas City because he heard "they had some crazy little women and wanted to get him one."

I watched the last few minutes of the final Newhart episode and it wasn't recognizable to me. My memories of the show was that it was funny, that ending was awful except for when he woke up next to Suzanne Pleshette. I hope that is spelled right, I wasn't about to Google it, my brain needs the exercise.

I was just a dumb little kid, but - thanks to Hitch and The Birds - my early crushes were high caliber, consisting of  Suzanne Pleshette & Tippi Hedren.

Great observation Cam!  While they were both heavy smokers, I'd cast my vote for the more earthy (and respectfully, more stacked) Suzanne.  Lucky Tom Poston!  Great actor by the way.
