Karma might be one answer.  Exposure to radiation or a poison seems plausible.

Yes, Willikins had to cry off a memorial service for personal reasons. Basically they're just posh Sendas, we're giving them all this money and now they can't be arsed to tell us what's up? If it wasn't serious they would say, that's pretty obvious.

They never openly talk about It Harry's real father here either. It's a mess.
