Yeah, and a total class act.....unlike like his sleezeball son.  I have good friends who are bigtime Tennessee boosters/donors, they dealt with both father and son back when Lane was the UT head coach.  They claim Montre apologized for his son's actions. 

They were convinced UT was going to get hit hard by the NCAA after Lane's "co-ed cuties for recruits" schemes, basically sex for signing.  There were rumors of sex tapes from those visits, supposedly passed around among players.  Gotta love the SEC.

I met him once.  He seemed to be a decent guy who cared about people.

RS really seemed like an upstanding guy. I saw that documentary on him, I don't think he approved of it or whatever, but it really showed him in a good light.

With that said, it's obvious he had a tough time with a few things early on that kind of shaped his life. Not just his weight loss thing, but how he trusted people. It's quite sad. He was a likable guy and helped a lot of people.
