His Wikipedia mentions that he played with Snowy White.

Going strictly by memory, I think Snowy White was the Pink Floyd touring guitarist back in the '80s and maybe in the '70s as well.

I loved JEJ's role in The Hunt For Red October!

JEJ appeared at our County Community College years ago to open a Joint City/College Library. I attended.

I thought I heard that Ed Kranepool died.

If I recall correctly, he was the Mets catcher in the early or mid '70s...

It looks like he was a first baseman. Here's a video

One of the last original Mets.  First MLB appearance was at the age of 17.

Sad news from Steve Quayle here.  Godlike Productions legend and radio host Hawk is dead.  During his last show on August 30th he said he was spitting up blood.   Send your checks or money orders to Quayle at his P.O. Box.

Hey Walks, you ever read George Plimpton's book, "Mad Ducks and Bears?" It's about Plimpton's time with the Lions back while Schmidt was the head coach in Detroit.  The books centers around the antics of Lion teammates Alex Karras (Mad Duck) and John Gordy (Bear.)  Combine the lunacy of Karras and Gordy with the literary brilliance of Plimpton and you get the single funniest book I've ever read. The story about how those two guys got the distribution rights for a high class, German vibrating dildo is worth the price of the book alone.

I have not.  I have seen the Alan Alda movie from the same era but I've not read that book.  I'll put it on my list.  Thanks!
