Heh heh, in that case we're going to need a pitcher - Roger Clemens?
Steve Carlton had a rep with the press.  John Rocker must've been considered one.... Rocker wasn't great though.

The Hooters in Jacksonville, NC. How does that type of establishment fail in a town chock full of Marines?

This Hooters closing of 40 locations is kind of interesting. They did say that underperforming locations were closed. Nothing was closed in California. There's only seven Hooters locations in California and for some reason, high labor, high insurance, high supply costs and high fuel costs weren't enough for them to press the eject button.

California law requires all sorts of legal loopholes to jump through when laying off a bunch of people.  Maybe they're waiting for the time they need to kick in bankruptcy or something before shutting down.

A San Diego area sports host used to work for the Dan Patrick Show, his name is Darren Smith. He was explaining that he rarely collected sports things, but he was in San Francisco for the debut of the Dan Patrick Show on a station there. The station arranged for Willie Mays, Orlando Cepeda and Willie McCovey to be guests on the show and this guy got a bat autographed by all three of them. Infuckingcredible!
